Electrophoresis

Product code: EP 001

  • Principle of the method:

electrophoresis is a method of separation based on differential migration of electrically charged particles or assemblies of particles under the effect, of an external electric field. Electrophoresis of serum proteins is a routine method performed in medical laboratories for detecting abnormal concentrations or constituents of human serum proteins.

Electrophoresis of serum proteins on agarose gel allows the separation of six protein fractions: albumin, alpha 1, alpha 2, beta 1, beta 2 and gamma,as well as as well as detection of monoclonal components. pdf icon1
